So knowlegablw and helpful - as part of the oil change they checked everything on my car and informed me in detail what what happening and what I should expect in the future. I felt the were fair, efficient, friendly, communicative, helpful and knowledgeable. Got a person nervous about mechanics I was pleasantly relieved. So appreciative!

I have a 1992 Nissan D21 that has not been running proper for over two years. I have had it in and out of two different shops and spent quite a bit of money and it still ran bad. I looked on internet to find a garage who specializes in Nissans. I found Primarily Japanese auto service and was impressed with their rating. I went to their shop and met Rick who was very friendly and professional. I was informed that they were very familiar with my vehicle. I made an appointment and took my truck in for repairs. When i picked my truck up, I was told that the work that had been done was not necessary and was not even installed properly. They corrected the problem without putting any thing new on it. This is where I will go from now on as they made me fell good as they showed kindness and professionalism and I was surprised at the reasonable cost. From what I experienced, they are honest , just and upright and they care. Ray Jones

July 11, 2019: Update to my review of 9 months ago: I was sitting in the office of Primarily Japanese today, waiting for my car, when a previous customer came in and said that his car was overheating and he was late for work nearby. The men in the office greeted him warmly by name, noting that they hadn’t seen him in a year or so. Somewhat embarrassed, the man explained that his car had overheated and he had taken it to another shop. Joe, the owner, asked questions about the repairs the other shop had done. In the course of the conversation, the man said he had paid them $600 but wanted Primarily Japanese to fix the car. Joe explained that since he had paid the other company, they were responsible for ensuring it was repaired properly, without any further cost. He suggested that the man call the other company from there. When the man seemed reticent, Joe offered to call the company for him, which he did. Joe explained the problem, hung up, and told the man that the company was sending a tow truck over immediately. Relieved, the man left the car at Primarily Japanese and went to work. Joe handled the situation with good humor and courtesy, assuaging this man’s embarrassment, and ensuring that his car would be taken care of without further cost. I’ve been taking my car to Primarily Japanese for years but I was particularly glad that I happened to be sitting in the office today to witness Joe’s integrity and kindness. 9 months ago I'm completely comfortable taking my Toyota to Primarily Japanese for any kind of repair and service and have been doing so for at least 5 years. The work is always done correctly and within the time frame they give me. The people there are pleasant, courteous, and friendly. When I call and say my name, whoever answers the phone knows who I am. The costs are always explained up front with no surprises. And, if I don't have a ride home or back to pick up my car, Primarily Japanese provides one. Can't ask much more.

I am happy to be here. They are very respectful for their customers. Very professional in their job. Not over estimated. They don't try to upsell with additional services. I felt very comfortable in my first visit. Hope I would get the same every time.

There isn't much more I can say about these guys that hasn't been said countless times already. They do GREAT WORK! Period. My wife's Subaru has 100K miles on it with a badly leaking head gasket. I brought it in, they replaced the head gasket and some other electronic components to get it running to optimal performance and I picked it up. No leaks...but this is where it gets interesting. All of a sudden, after about 100 miles, the check engine light comes on. I take it down to them, they troubleshoot the problem and said it might be a new electronic component that is not working up to speed, but asked me to give it a go and see if it does it again. It did, so then Joe comes up to the house in Oro Valley and picks up the car and drives it back to the shop. They replace the component with a new Subaru component, test drive it for about a 100 miles over a couple days and then deliver it back to me in Oro Valley. The car runs like it did when it was bought new in 2007. No auto repair shop in this town would even think of doing what they did. I highly recommend Primarily Japanese Auto Service.
